We pick you up at your hotel, drive you to your yacht in Marina Cabo San Lucas and take you back after the charter. The price is per vehicle and depends on your hotel's zone: from USD 75 one way, or USD 160 round trip in an SUV from Zones 1 to 4, in cash. You pay the driver on the day, separately from the yacht; by card on the driver's terminal it's 5% more (USD 79 and USD 168).

How does the hotel pickup to the marina work?

The ride is something you add to your charter. It is not a shared shuttle, and nobody else gets on.

  1. Choose your yacht and date in the planner.
  2. Tell us your hotel, how many people are coming and whether you want one way or round trip.
  3. We confirm the vehicle and the price for your zone in writing, together with your charter.
  4. On the day, the driver meets you at your hotel and drops you at your yacht's meeting point.
  5. After the charter, on a round trip, the driver takes you back to the hotel.

Each yacht boards at its own dock in Marina Cabo San Lucas; your exact dock and a map link come on your boarding pass. The Sea Ray 65 is the one exception: it meets you at Fisherman's Landing restaurant, by the Cabo Escape terminal, so that is where the driver drops you.

How much does a ride from my hotel to the marina cost?

Prices are in US dollars, per vehicle, for your whole group. One way means hotel to marina or marina to hotel. Round trip covers both. Each cell has two prices: cash, and by card on the driver's terminal, which adds a 5% fee.

One way

Zone SUV (up to 4) Escalade (up to 6) Van (up to 11) Sprinter (up to 20)

Round trip

Zone SUV (up to 4) Escalade (up to 6) Van (up to 11) Sprinter (up to 20)
Zone 1: San José del Cabo USD 160 cash · 168 card USD 180 cash · 189 card USD 160 cash · 168 card USD 220 cash · 231 card
Zone 2: Palmilla to Fiesta Americana USD 160 cash · 168 card USD 180 cash · 189 card USD 160 cash · 168 card USD 220 cash · 231 card
Zone 3: Cabo San Lucas, Hacienda Encantada, Puerto Los Cabos USD 160 cash · 168 card USD 180 cash · 189 card USD 160 cash · 168 card USD 220 cash · 231 card

Diamante: Nobu and Hard Rock USD 170 cash · 179 card USD 200 cash · 210 card USD 180 cash · 189 card USD 240 cash · 252 card

Look at the round trip prices before you decide. From Zone 3, an SUV is USD 95 cash each way, so two one-way rides would be USD 190, and the round trip is USD 160 (by card: USD 200 against USD 168). The same is true in every zone.

Which zone is my hotel in?

The zones follow the coast from east to west:

  • Zone 1 is downtown San José del Cabo and its main hotel zone.
  • Zone 2 is most of the Tourist Corridor, from Palmilla near San José to Fiesta Americana near Cabo San Lucas.
  • Zone 3 is downtown Cabo San Lucas, the marina and Médano Beach, plus Hacienda Encantada at Punta Ballena and Puerto Los Cabos, east of San José across the estuary.
  • Zone 4 is just over the hills west of downtown Cabo San Lucas, where the Pacific coast begins: Pedregal and Pueblo Bonito Pacífica.
  • Diamante is the farthest area, up the Pacific coast, with Nobu and Hard Rock.

The quickest way to check is the hotel finder on the transportation page. Type your hotel's name into "Find your hotel", or tap a dot on the map. Each dot is a hotel or landmark, colored by its zone's price, and tapping one shows the prices for that zone. If your hotel or rental isn't on the map, send us its name by WhatsApp or in the planner, and we tell you the zone and the price before you book.

Our hotel guides also list the zone, the distance to the marina and the yacht options for each of the 40 hotels we cover.

Which vehicle do I need for my group?

Count everyone who is coming, kids included, and pick the smallest vehicle that fits.

Group size Vehicle One way from
1 to 4 SUV USD 75 cash · 79 card
5 or 6 Escalade USD 95 cash · 100 card
Up to 11 Van (Hiace) USD 80 cash · 84 card
Up to 20 Sprinter USD 100 cash · 105 card

The van often costs about the same as the SUV, and in Zones 1 to 4 the round trip price is identical: USD 160 cash, USD 168 by card. For a group of four with beach bags and a cooler, it can be worth asking for the van.

For groups over 20, tell us the number. Two vehicles is the usual answer, and we quote both in writing.

How early should I leave my hotel for the marina?

Be at your meeting point 15 minutes before departure, since the captain gives a short safety briefing first. Then work back from the drive.

These are drive times without traffic from the hotel to the nearest boarding dock, with the distance in a straight line. At rush hour the drive takes longer, and the afternoon drive into Cabo San Lucas is usually slower than the morning one.

Hotel Zone Straight line Drive without traffic
Viceroy Los Cabos 1 28.1 km about 30 min
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos 1 27.6 km about 29 min
One&Only Palmilla 2 24.2 km about 29 min
Las Ventanas al Paraíso 2 17.8 km about 21 min
Montage Los Cabos 2 10.8 km about 17 min
JW Marriott Los Cabos 3 33.0 km about 41 min
Esperanza 3 (confirmed when you book) 6.1 km about 14 min
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas 3 2.5 km about 7 min
Pueblo Bonito Pacifica 4 3.0 km about 9 min
Nobu Hotel Los Cabos Diamante 7.6 km about 18 min

Our rule of thumb is drive time without traffic, plus the 15 minutes at the dock, plus a cushion of 15 to 30 minutes for traffic. From the San José hotel zone that means leaving about an hour to an hour and a quarter before your yacht departs. From Pedregal or the Médano end of Zone 3, half an hour is plenty.

Note that JW Marriott sits in Zone 3 for pricing because Puerto Los Cabos is grouped with Cabo San Lucas, but it is the longest drive on the list. Zone tells you the price; the table tells you the time.

Do I need a ride if my hotel is near the marina?

Probably not. Several hotels are steps from the marina: Breathless Cabo San Lucas, Tesoro Los Cabos, Sandos Finisterra and Playa Grande Resort are all under half a kilometer from the nearest boarding dock in a straight line.

The Médano Beach hotels are a little farther. Corazón Cabo is 0.6 km in a straight line, Casa Dorada 0.7 km and ME Cabo 0.8 km, each about 2 minutes by car without traffic. Many guests walk. A ride still makes sense with small kids, older relatives, or a cooler and a pile of bags.

How do I pay the driver?

You pay the driver on the day: the table price in cash, or 5% more by card on the driver's terminal, which is the terminal fee. From Hard Rock, a round trip in a van is USD 180 cash or USD 189 by card. The ride never goes on the Stripe link you use for the yacht, and it does not change the yacht price.

On the yacht side, prices are per boat with 16% IVA tax included. A 15% crew tip is suggested and is not included.

Which yacht pairs well with a hotel pickup?

Any of them. Pickup just moves you from the lobby to the dock. A few examples for two hours, per boat with tax included:

Yacht Guests 2 hours Pairs with
Chaparral 28 up to 10 USD 519 / MXN 9,799 Van (Hiace)
Sea Ray 40 up to 12 USD 879 / MXN 16,799 Van for up to 11, Sprinter for 12
Pontoon 38 up to 18 USD 869 / MXN 16,599 Sprinter
Sea Ray 65 up to 12 USD 2,509 / MXN 47,699 (3 h) Sprinter, drop at Fisherman's Landing

If you are timing a sunset trip from a corridor resort, our day-on-a-yacht itinerary and the marina guide cover the rest of the plan.

How do I book the ride with my yacht?

Open the planner, choose the yacht and the date, and add your hotel, the number of guests and one way or round trip. We reply within 2 hours, 8 AM to 8 PM Cabo time, with the vehicle and the price for your zone. You pay for the yacht through a secure Stripe link once the date is confirmed in writing, and you pay the driver on the day.

We are an independent booking agency with no affiliation to any of the hotels listed here.
