The hotel
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is an all-inclusive resort of 591 suites on Paseo Malecón in the hotel zone of San José del Cabo, and it was the first all-inclusive resort to carry the Hyatt name when it opened in November 2013. It is about 27.6 km from the Cabo San Lucas marina, around 29 minutes without traffic, and longer at rush hour. Yacht outings leave from that marina, so guests here start the day with a drive west along the coast.
The resort overlooks the Sea of Cortez from the San José del Cabo hotel zone and has more than 50,000 square feet of pools, including one for adults only. The sources we found do not say whether the sea in front is safe for swimming. San José beaches get red flags from Zofemat when the surf is high, as in April 2026, so check the flag before going in.1
History and curious facts
Before it carried the Hyatt name, the property had been a Barceló hotel. On November 8, 2013, Hyatt and Playa Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos with 619 suites, eight restaurants and six bars, as the first Hyatt-branded all-inclusive resort. Less than a year later, in September 2014, Hurricane Odile damaged the resort and it closed for repairs. It reopened on September 15, 2015 with 591 suites, among them 21 premium two-bedroom suites facing the ocean and 34 swim-up suites, and held its grand opening party on November 19 of that year. The renovated resort added an open-air lobby looking over the pools and the Sea of Cortez, a Kidz Club with a water park and a treehouse, and 35,000 square feet of meeting space.

There is no single dock for every boat. Each yacht boards at its own dock in Marina Cabo San Lucas, and your boarding pass has the exact one with a map link. These are the meeting points and the yachts that use each one:
Your yacht day
With a Kidz Club, an adults-only pool and swim-up suites, Hyatt Ziva has families and couples under the same roof, and the yacht day works for both. Our transfer picks you up at the lobby and drives about half an hour to the Cabo San Lucas marina, where your yacht boards at its own dock, and brings you back afterwards; the driver collects the fare, which depends on the hotel's zone. Families usually prefer a morning snorkel outing and are back at the resort for a late lunch. Couples choose the sunset outing, and between December and April a whale watching trip suits both. Groups here for a conference can also book a corporate outing for the team.
