The hotel
Tesoro Los Cabos is a 255-room hotel on Boulevard Paseo de la Marina in downtown Cabo San Lucas, right in front of the marina and its shopping center. It is steps from the Cabo San Lucas Marina, around 1 minute by car without traffic. Before it became Tesoro, the hotel operated as the Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort.
Tesoro is on the marina, not on the sand. The hotel says Playa El Farito is about a 20-minute walk away.1
History and curious facts
The story of Tesoro Los Cabos
Before taking its current name, the hotel ran as the Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort, a 286-room property next to the Cabo San Lucas marina owned by AMX Baja Holdings, a subsidiary of the real estate investment group Steadfast Companies. A Wyndham release announced a $10 million renovation of its rooms, meeting space and public areas, expected to finish in early 2012. At the time most rooms had balconies over the marina.
Today the hotel is Tesoro Los Cabos, part of Tesoro Resorts, a Mexican group with hotels in Ixtapa, Manzanillo and Los Cabos. It lists 255 rooms and suites, from standard marina-view rooms to master suites, and has the Aura Spa.

If you are carrying a cooler, a cake for a birthday or the kids' snorkel gear, you can still book our transfer and the driver gets you there in about a minute without traffic. Because the hotel has no beach of its own, a snorkel charter is the quickest way into clear water, and families can stop in a calm cove near the Arch. Groups staying downtown often book birthday or bachelorette charters, and couples pick the sunset sail. From December to April there are whale-watching trips.
