The back of Lover's Beach, facing the open Pacific. Currents and waves are strong and there are no lifeguards, so this is a beach for photos, not for swimming 1.

What's there
Waves roll straight in from the ocean, a sharp contrast with the calm bay a short walk away 1.
Sunset routes pass on the Pacific side, where the beach, the rocks and the ocean horizon fit in one view.
Authorities close it when the surf is dangerous, as they did in August 2026 2.
The story
Divorce Beach is the largest of the three small beaches at Land's End: 7,034.7 m² (about 75,700 sq ft), per CONANP's draft management program 3.
It lies inside the Cabo San Lucas Flora and Fauna Protection Area, whose waters were first protected in 1973 4.
The name is usually explained as a joke on Lover's Beach, which sits back to back with it across the same sand. That story comes from blogs and hotels; there is no documented origin.
In August 2026 Civil Protection raised black flags and closed Divorce Beach and the area under the Arch because of heavy surf 2.
