The story
From a fishing village to a charter harbor.
Cipriano Ceseña founded the settlement in 1788. In 1842 a castaway who landed here counted two houses and about 20 people 6.
An American company built tuna-processing works in 1917 6. Cabo stayed remote until the Transpeninsular Highway was inaugurated on December 1, 1973 7 and Los Cabos International Airport opened in 1977 8.
Bisbee's Black & Blue started with 6 boats and a $10,000 purse. In 2003 it wrote its first check for more than a million dollars 3.
In April 2024 the Mexican Navy, municipal police and the port authority took control of the marina when the previous operator's concession ended. The docks kept working 2.
