Adults only resorts in Cabo for couples, and the yacht plans that go with them

Seven resorts in Los Cabos are adults only and say so on their own sites or in their press releases: Breathless Cabo San Lucas, ME Cabo, Riu Palace Baja California and Pueblo Bonito Pacifica in Cabo San Lucas, plus Le Blanc, Marquis Los Cabos and Paradisus Los Cabos on the corridor. Breathless is the closest to the boats, steps from the marina, and Marquis the farthest, about 19.2 km in a straight line, around 24 minutes by car without traffic.

We left out any hotel whose adults-only status we could not trace to a source. We are an independent yacht charter agency, not tied to any of these hotels.

In Cabo San Lucas: close to the marina and the nightlife

Breathless Cabo San Lucas

Breathless opened at the end of 2015 as the first Breathless resort in Mexico. It stands at the marina end of Médano, next to the boarding docks, so you walk to your yacht. All 169 suites have a private terrace facing the sea or the marina, and at opening the program included DJ music day and night and outdoor evening shows. It suits couples who want the town at the door.

ME Cabo

ME Cabo is a design hotel on Médano facing the Arch, with 170 rooms remodeled in 2021 and Confessions Skybar on the roof. Meliá lists it among its adults only hotels in Los Cabos. Its YHI Spa has a temazcal, a traditional sweat lodge. It is about 0.8 km from the marina in a straight line.

Riu Palace Baja California

Riu Palace Baja California opened in December 2018 as RIU's first adults-only hotel in Los Cabos. Restaurants and daytime bars sit at seafront level, and 82 of its 602 rooms have full sea views. RIU notes the beach's swimming area is about 2 km away, so plan on the four pools. It is about 2.1 km from the marina in a straight line, around 9 minutes by car.

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica opened in 2005 on the Pacific side, inside Quivira Los Cabos. Pueblo Bonito says it is strictly for guests 18 and older and its only adults-only resort. It fronts a 2.5-mile Pacific beach where swimming is not permitted because of strong currents, so guests use the cabanas and pools. It is about 3.0 km from the marina, around 9 minutes by car, one of the shortest rides from the Pacific side.

On the corridor: quieter, with more space

Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos

Le Blanc opened in March 2018 as the second Le Blanc, after Cancún. Palace Resorts presented it as an adults-only luxury all-inclusive with a butler for every suite. The 29,000 square foot spa has 25 treatment rooms, nine of them for couples, plus a VIP couples suite with its own sauna and steam room. It is about 17.1 km from the marina in a straight line, around 21 minutes by car.

Paradisus Los Cabos

Paradisus Los Cabos was the Meliá Cabo Real until December 2016. Local press reported in October 2023 that it would go adults only in January 2024, and Meliá now lists it as adults only. It has 350 rooms on 14.5 acres surrounded by the Cabo Real golf course. When Meliá announced the conversion, it described the resort's beach as the largest swimmable beach in the corridor. It is about 18.2 km from the marina, around 21 minutes by car.

Marquis Los Cabos

Marquis Los Cabos reopened in November 2011 under AMResorts as Secrets Marquis Los Cabos, an adults-only resort, and reopened again under Hoteles Marquis in April 2015 after a 10 million dollar redesign. All 235 suites have views of the Sea of Cortez, and a 40-foot waterfall runs through the open-air lobby. It is about 19.2 km from the marina, around 24 minutes by car.

Three yacht plans for couples

A resort gives you the pool and the spa. The day on the water is a private boat with only the two of you and the crew. Here are three plans for two, all from our just the two of you page.

1. Sunset at the Arch

Two hours at golden hour: around Land's End to the Pacific side, facing the sun as it drops toward the Cabo Falso lighthouse, then back past the Arch with the town lights coming on. The Bayliner 30 is the usual boat for two, at USD 549 / MXN 10,499 for 2 hours. See the sunset cruise for the route.

2. A proposal or an anniversary

Tell us it is a proposal or an anniversary when you book. The 2 hour route passes the Arch and Lover's Beach, so you choose where the moment happens. A professional photographer is optional, at USD 180 with all the photos, paid directly to the photographer. Flowers, cake and decorations are extras quoted separately. 3. Breakfast on board, or a chef

For a morning trip, order breakfast from the menu in the planner: chilaquiles, French toast or banana pancakes at MXN 325 each (cash price; card adds 16%). For a dinner-style outing, the McKinna 70 has a chef on board and a multi-course menu, from USD 4,499 / MXN 85,499 for 3 hours, its minimum.

Getting from your resort to the boat

Each yacht boards at its own dock in Marina Cabo San Lucas; your exact dock and a map link come on your boarding pass. From Breathless and ME Cabo you can walk. From the corridor resorts you need a car, and we can book a private transfer both ways. A round trip by SUV is USD 160 cash (168 by card) from all of these resorts; one way it is USD 85 cash (90 by card) from the corridor, USD 95 cash (100 by card) from Cabo San Lucas and USD 100 cash (105 by card) from the Pacific side. The driver collects it, separate from the yacht: the cash price, or 5% more by card on the driver's terminal.

Departures run from 7 AM to 7 PM. Pick the date and the yacht in the planner, add the photographer or breakfast there, and we reply within 2 hours between 8 AM and 8 PM Cabo time.
