Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort is a family resort of 749 ocean-view suites on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, inside the Quivira Los Cabos development, open since 2002. It is about 2.3 km from the Cabo San Lucas marina, around 9 minutes without traffic, and longer at rush hour. The resort also runs a free shuttle to downtown Cabo San Lucas, a 10-minute ride.
Sunset Beach faces the Pacific Ocean, and the resort's FAQ says that because of strong currents swimming is not allowed. The water is for looking at: guests swim in the six pools, one of them for adults only, and Pueblo Bonito points them to its sister resorts on calmer beaches when they want the sea.1

The story of Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort
Pueblo Bonito began in 1987 with a single hotel in Mazatlán and opened its first Los Cabos resort on Playa El Médano in 1991. Sunset Beach followed in 2002, on a 1,200-acre site about 10 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, built as a family resort on several terraces above the Pacific. In 2017 the company counted 635 junior and executive suites there; by its 2021 release the number had grown to 749, all set in hacienda-style villas with ocean views. Pacifica, the group's adults-only resort, opened next door in 2005, and both sit within Quivira Los Cabos, the residential development that also holds the Quivira Golf Club. In 2021 Condé Nast Traveler readers listed Sunset Beach among the Top 20 Resorts in Western Mexico.

Sunset Beach is one of the closest big resorts to the marina, so a yacht day takes little planning: our transfer picks you up at the lobby, has you at your yacht's dock in under 10 minutes without traffic and brings you back after the trip, with the fare paid to the driver and set by the hotel's zone. The resort is built for families, with a Kids Club and a teen lounge, and families tend to book a morning snorkel outing, since the Pacific beach in front is closed to swimming. Multigenerational groups in the larger suites can book a whole yacht for a birthday, and couples often take the sunset outing. From December to April a whale watching trip is the classic family plan here.
