Captain Tony's is a palapa restaurant on the Cabo San Lucas marina boardwalk, across from the Cultural Pavilion (Pabellón Cultural), open from 5:30 AM to 10 PM every day (as of October 2026; confirm before you go). It is known for pizza from a wood-fired oven that has been burning for more than 30 years, and it will cook the fish you catch on a licensed sportfishing trip. It is also where our Chaparral 28 and Bayliner 30 meet their guests.
Where is Captain Tony's in Cabo San Lucas?
The address is Blvd. Paseo de la Marina 58, Int. 6, Loc. 1-E. In practice, look for it on the boardwalk across from the Cultural Pavilion, behind the building that used to be the Tesoro hotel and is now a Wyndham. The palapa sits on the dock with a view across the marina.
If you're coming from a Médano Beach hotel, you can walk along the waterfront. From the corridor resorts, take a taxi and ask for the Cultural Pavilion on the marina. Our Marina Cabo San Lucas page shows how the harbor is laid out.

Captain Tony's at a glance
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Hours | 5:30 AM to 10 PM daily (as of October 2026; confirm before you go) |
| Known for | Wood-fired pizza, cook your catch, breakfast before sunrise |
| What to order | Bacon and shrimp pizza; chilaquiles in the morning; sashimi or tacos |
| Yachts that meet here | Chaparral 28 and Bayliner 30 |
How long has Captain Tony's been on the marina?
More than 30 years. In 2021, Los Cabos Magazine reported that the wood-fired oven had been lit for 30 years, and that the place started as a palapa with two or three plastic tables.
The walls are covered with photos of catches going back decades, so take a look around while you wait for your table.
What to order at Captain Tony's
Start with the pizza. It comes out of the wood-fired oven, and the bacon and shrimp pizza is the one the restaurant is best known for. A couple of pizzas shared around the table works well for a group coming off a boat.
The rest of the menu leans toward the sea. You'll find sashimi and tacos, and in the morning there are chilaquiles, the Mexican breakfast of fried tortilla pieces in red or green salsa.

How does "you hook it, we cook it" work at Captain Tony's?
Captain Tony's runs a cook-your-catch service: you bring in the fish from your trip, and the kitchen cooks it in up to four styles. Two rules apply. The fish has to be licensed sport catch, and it can't be a protected species.
There's no price we can publish for this. Ask the price when you arrive, before the kitchen starts.
One thing to know if you're booking with us: the only one of our yachts that fishes is the McKinna 70, on its sport-fishing charter with the Mexican licenses included; the others are pleasure yachts with no fishing permits. Cook your catch is for anglers coming back from a licensed sportfishing trip. Our guide to cook your catch in Cabo explains how it works around the marina, from cleaning the fish to what to tell the kitchen.
Breakfast at 5:30 AM
Captain Tony's opens at 5:30 AM because sportfishing boats leave around 5, and the kitchen also packs lunches for the anglers heading out. That makes it one of the earliest breakfasts on the marina.
For you, it means a 7 AM charter doesn't rule out a sit-down breakfast. Our departures run from 7 AM to 7 PM. If you're on the Chaparral 28 or the Bayliner 30 at 7, sit down at 5:45, eat by 6:30 and you'll be at your dock by 6:45, 15 minutes before departure, which is when we ask you to be there. Our breakfast near Cabo Marina guide has the other early options.
How does Captain Tony's work as a meeting point?
Two of our boats meet you by Captain Tony's. Both board on the boardwalk across from the Cultural Pavilion, a few steps from the restaurant, each at its own dock:
| Yacht | Where it boards | Guests |
|---|---|---|
| Chaparral 28 | Orange Dock 1-B, by Captain Tony's | Up to 10 |
| Bayliner 30 | Dock 1-A (Zaidas), on O Dock by Captain Tony's | Up to 6 |
Your boarding pass brings a map link to the meeting point and a photo of the place, so you know what to look for on the boardwalk. Arrive 15 minutes before your departure time. If someone in your group is late, the restaurant is a comfortable place to wait, and you can message us on WhatsApp at +52 624 300 8029 so we let the crew know.
Neither boat charges a dock fee. Prices are per boat, with the 16% IVA tax included. The 15% crew tip is a suggestion and isn't included; our tipping guide works it out for each boat. We don't sell alcohol on board, and guests 18 and over may bring their own.

Chaparral 28 or Bayliner 30: which one fits your group?
The Chaparral 28 is a 28 ft sport boat for up to 10 guests. It comes with snorkel gear, a lily pad floating mat, a cooler and a Bluetooth sound system. It's the quick, open-deck way to the Arch.
The Bayliner 30 is a 30 ft cabin cruiser for up to 6 guests, with a cabin and a head on board. It comes with a professional captain, a cooler with ice, bottled water and sodas, snorkel gear and a floating mat. If your group is small and someone wants a bathroom on board, this is the better pick.
| Charter length | Chaparral 28 (up to 10) | Bayliner 30 (up to 6) |
|---|---|---|
| 2 hours | USD 519 / MXN 9,799 | USD 549 / MXN 10,499 |
| 3 hours | USD 709 / MXN 13,599 | USD 799 / MXN 15,199 |
| 4 hours | USD 909 / MXN 17,399 | USD 999 / MXN 18,999 |
Prices are per boat, tax included, tip not included. Two hours covers the Arch, Lover's Beach and the sea lions and brings you back along Médano Beach. The fleet page compares both with the rest of our boats.

Food on board, if you'd rather not stop
You can also skip the restaurant and eat on the boat. Our menu, ordered in the planner, has chilaquiles and beans or huevos rancheros for MXN 325, banana pancakes for MXN 325, and box lunches from MXN 238 (cash prices; card adds 16%). It's handy for a 7 AM departure when the group would rather sleep an extra half hour than sit down for breakfast.
A professional photographer can join for USD 180, with all the photos from your charter, paid directly to the photographer. Add it in the planner.
Eat before or after the boat?
Before, if you're sailing in the morning. A breakfast at Captain Tony's and a short walk to your dock is the simplest start to a boat day on the marina.
After, if you're sailing in the afternoon or at sunset. Boats sail until 8 PM and Captain Tony's stays open until 10 PM (as of October 2026; confirm before you go), so pizza after a sunset cruise on the Chaparral 28 works without a taxi in between. For the rest of the restaurants around the docks, including Baja Cantina and Fisherman's Landing, see our guide to Cabo marina restaurants.
Book a boat that meets at Captain Tony's
Pick the Chaparral 28 for a group of up to 10 or the Bayliner 30 for up to 6 in the planner, choose your date, hours and departure time, and add food from our menu if you'd rather eat on board. We reply in writing within 2 hours, 8 AM to 8 PM Cabo time, and your boarding pass brings the map link and the photo of the meeting point.
