In Cabo San Lucas, two restaurants on the marina will cook the fish you caught: Captain Tony's, which prepares it in up to four styles, and Fisherman's Landing. They take fish from licensed sport fishing only, and only species that are not protected. We couldn't verify a current 2026 price, so ask the price when you arrive.
One thing to know before you plan: of our yachts, only the McKinna 70 fishes, on its sport-fishing charter to the Golden Gate Bank with the Mexican licenses included. The others are pleasure yachts without fishing permits. The fishing part of your day goes with the McKinna 70 or a licensed sportfishing operator; the cooking happens on the marina.
Which Cabo restaurants cook your catch?
Both are on Marina Cabo San Lucas, where the sportfishing boats come back in. They are separate restaurants.
| Restaurant | Where | Hours (as of Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Captain Tony's | Marina boardwalk, across from the Pabellón Cultural | 5:30 AM to 10 PM daily |
| Fisherman's Landing | By the Cabo Escape terminal, on the water | 7 AM to 10 PM |
Confirm the hours before you go.
Captain Tony's
Captain Tony's has been on the marina boardwalk for more than 30 years. Its sign says "You hook it, we cook it," and the kitchen prepares licensed sport catch in up to four styles. It opens at 5:30 AM and packs lunches for anglers heading out early. The walls are covered in photos of catches from decades back.
It's also known for wood-fired pizza, so the people in your group who didn't fish have plenty to order. More in our guide to Captain Tony's.

Fisherman's Landing
Fisherman's Landing is an open-air seafood spot on the water by the Cabo Escape terminal. Its line is "You hook it, and we cook it!"
If the fish didn't cooperate, the regular menu has lobster with lemon butter, blackened sea bass, dorado six ways, sushi and tacos. See our guide to Fisherman's Landing.
What fish can you bring to be cooked?
Two rules, and both come from the restaurants' side:
- The fish has to come from licensed sport fishing.
- It has to be a species that is not protected.
If you aren't sure whether a fish can be kept, ask your fishing crew before it comes on board, and let it go if the answer is no. Don't take a fish you're unsure about to the restaurant.
How does cook your catch work, step by step?

What should you tell the fishing crew?
Tell them early, ideally before you leave the dock. A few lines that cover it:
- "We'd like to keep one fish to have cooked at Captain Tony's (or Fisherman's Landing) today."
- "Can you clean and fillet it for us, or should we take it whole?"
- "How much should we keep for a group of six?"
- "Can we keep it on ice until we get to the restaurant?"
That last question matters if you're going straight from the boat to the table on a warm afternoon.
The crew tip is separate from the charter price and from the restaurant bill. If the crew cleaned and filleted your fish, that's worth keeping in mind. Our guide on tipping a boat crew in Cabo explains how tips work on the water here.
What does a fishing day with cook your catch look like?
Here's one way to lay it out. The fishing hours depend on your sportfishing operator, and sunset changes through the year; our trip guide has sunset times by month.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Early morning | Breakfast at Captain Tony's from 5:30 AM, then out with your licensed sportfishing operator |
| Back at the dock | Take the fish on ice to Captain Tony's or Fisherman's Landing |
| Lunch | Your catch, cooked the way you chose |
| Afternoon | Snorkel or sunset on one of our yachts; departures run until 7 PM |
| Evening | Yachts sail until 8 PM, and both restaurants serve until 10 PM |
What happens when you get to the restaurant?
Tell the host when you walk in that you brought your catch to be cooked. Ask the price before you hand it over, then pick how you want it prepared; at Captain Tony's you choose among up to four styles. Order drinks and anything else from the menu as usual.
How do you reach the two restaurants?
Hours are as of October 2026; confirm before you go. These are the numbers and Instagram accounts they list:
| Restaurant | Phone | |
|---|---|---|
| Captain Tony's | +52 624 143 6797 | @restaurantcaptaintonys |
| Fisherman's Landing | +52 624 143 7275 | @anglerslandingcabo |
A call from the dock helps if you're arriving with a big group.
How much does it cost to cook your catch?
We don't publish a number because we couldn't confirm a current one for 2026. Ask the price when you arrive, before you hand over the fish. Ask, too, whether the price is per person or per plate and what comes with it.
Drinks and anything else you order from the menu go on the bill as usual.

Can you fish on our yachts?
Only on the McKinna 70's sport-fishing charter, which includes the Mexican fishing licenses. Our other yachts are pleasure yachts without fishing permits, so there is no fishing on those charters. We'd rather say that plainly than have you show up with a rod.
What works well is splitting the day. Fish in the morning with a licensed sportfishing operator, have your catch cooked for lunch on the marina, and take one of our yachts out in the afternoon to snorkel or for sunset at the Arch. For the sunset part, a group of up to 10 fits on the Chaparral 28, which boards by Captain Tony's; two hours cost USD 519 (MXN 9,799). The Sea Ray 65 meets you at Fisherman's Landing; three hours cost USD 2,509 (MXN 47,699). Prices are per boat with 16% tax included; the 15% crew tip is customary and not included.
Every one of our yachts comes with snorkel gear, a lily pad floating mat and a cooler, so the afternoon can be about swimming instead of rods. The Chaparral 28 adds a Bluetooth sound system. The Sea Ray 65 runs the standard route past the Arch, Lover's Beach and Médano Bay, carries a paddle board, and has to be back by 8 PM, when the Cabo Escape terminal closes. Fisherman's Landing, where it meets you, serves until 10 PM.
What if nobody in your group fishes?
You can still eat fresh fish without catching it. Both restaurants have seafood on the regular menu, and our guide to what to eat in Los Cabos covers fish tacos, smoked marlin and the other dishes worth trying.
How do you plan a fishing day with a yacht afternoon?
Line up the fishing trip first, since it sets the morning. Then pick the restaurant, and leave a couple of hours between lunch and your afternoon boat. When you know your date and group size, the planner shows which yachts are free that afternoon, and your boarding pass tells you exactly where to meet the boat.
