The best yacht in Cabo for 2 people depends on the hour you book. For a sunset, it's the Bayliner 30, a 30-foot cabin cruiser with a captain, for USD 549 (MXN 10,499) for two hours, boarding at Dock 1-A (Zaidas), by Captain Tony's, in Marina Cabo San Lucas. For a sunrise breakfast on a budget, take the Chaparral 28 at USD 519 (MXN 9,799). For dinner at anchor with the food included, the Azimut 70 starts at USD 4,199 (MXN 79,799) for three hours. Prices are per boat with the 16% tax included, so a couple pays the same as a full boat; the 15% crew tip is extra.
The whole fleet sorted by headcount is on the yacht by group size page. For the lowest price with any group up to 8, see our small boat rental guide.

For a sunset: Bayliner 30
The sunset for two is the trip most couples book, and the Bayliner 30 is the boat we point them to. It's a cabin cruiser, so there's shade and a place to change, and it includes a professional captain, a cooler with ice, bottled water and sodas, snorkel gear and a floating mat. Two people on a boat built for six have the bow to themselves.
Leave about 90 minutes before sunset; the trip guide has the sunset time for your date. The Pacific route goes around Land's End and faces the sun as it drops toward the Cabo Falso lighthouse. The other option is to stay on the calm bay side of Cabo San Lucas and watch the light change on the Arch. The yachts don't sell or serve alcohol, but guests 18 and over can bring their own, so the bottle goes in the cooler at the dock.

For a sunrise breakfast: Chaparral 28 or Bayliner 30
Departures start at 7 AM. Order breakfast in the planner and it's on board when you arrive: chilaquiles and beans, huevos rancheros, French toast or banana pancakes at MXN 325 each, cash prices (card adds 16%).
The Chaparral 28 is the lowest price in the fleet, USD 519 for two hours, and comes with a Bluetooth sound system and a lily pad floating mat for a swim at Lover's Beach. It's an open sport boat with no cabin, which two people rarely miss on a morning run to the Arch and back. The Bayliner 30 adds the cabin and the included water and sodas for USD 30 more.
For a cabin or a crew: Bayliner 30, Bayliner 33, Sea Ray 36 or Sea Ray 55
If one of you wants somewhere out of the sun, the Bayliner 30 is the cabin cruiser in the small range. The Sea Ray 55 has cabins, heads and air conditioning, plus a floating pool, a paddle board and a floating platform, from USD 2,129 (MXN 40,399) for three hours. The Bayliner 33 costs USD 50 more than the Bayliner 30, USD 599 for two hours, and includes ice, bottled water, a floating mat and snorkel gear.
The Sea Ray 36 is the step up for two who want a crew: captain and deckhand, bottled water and ice, a cooler, towels and snorkel gear, for USD 659 (MXN 12,599). It's one of only three yachts in the fleet that include towels (with the Sea Ray 40 and the Azimut 45), handy after a swim at Pelican Rock.
For dinner at anchor: Azimut 70 or McKinna 70
Yachts sail until 8 PM, and yachts from the marina may stay anchored in the bay until 10 PM. For two people who want dinner on the water without bringing the food, the two 70-footers both include a menu, and both have a three-hour minimum.
The Azimut 70 includes a menu on board (fish ceviche, sashimi, beef or chicken fajitas, guacamole with chips), complimentary beer and cocktails served by its crew of three, two cabins and an A/C salon, from USD 4,199 (MXN 79,799) for three hours. The McKinna 70 has a chef cooking a multi-course menu on board and complimentary drinks served by a crew of five, from USD 4,499 (MXN 85,499). For two it's a lot of yacht; for an anniversary with the families aboard, it takes 12. Our McKinna 70 vs Azimut 70 guide compares them, and the luxury yachts page has the top of the fleet.
The cheaper dinner for two is any small yacht with a cheese board from the menu (small MXN 780) and your own bottle, anchored off Médano Beach with the town lights on. Our anniversary dinner guide walks through that evening.

What two people get on every yacht
- A captain, on every boat in the fleet, and a deckhand on most.
- The 2-hour Arch route: Pelican Rock, the sea lion colony, the Arch, Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach, back along Médano Beach. The CONANP conservation fee is included.
- Departures from 7 AM to 7 PM, sailing until 8 PM, anchored in the bay until 10 PM from the marina.
- A new date or a full refund if the Port Captain closes the harbor, which happens mostly between September and mid-October.
Flowers and a cake are extras quoted separately. Decorations are cardstock and a sign only; the Port Captain no longer allows balloons on board.
If it's a proposal, a honeymoon or a babymoon
Any of the yachts above works for these trips. How to propose on a boat in Cabo covers where to ask and how to keep it secret. The Cabo honeymoon itinerary puts the boat day in the right place in the week. For a pregnant partner, the babymoon on a yacht guide is the calmer, shorter version of this trip.
A different group size?
Two becomes four when another couple joins; our best yacht for 4 guide covers that. The couples experience page shows the sunrise and sunset trips we set up for two.
