For a babymoon in Cabo San Lucas, book two hours on a private yacht in the morning, on the bay side, with a cabin to lie down in and a head on board. The Bayliner 30 takes up to 6 guests and costs USD 549 (MXN 10,499) for two hours, per boat with the 16% tax included, boarding at Dock 1-A (Zaidas), by Captain Tony's, in Marina Cabo San Lucas. The captain keeps to the flat water inside the bay. Check with your doctor before you book; we're a charter agency, and nothing here is medical advice.

If you've read our Cabo honeymoon itinerary, this is the same water on a shorter, gentler schedule. The couples experience page has the other trips we set up for two.

Is Cabo a good babymoon destination?

For time on the water, yes, if you pick the right trip. Most of what people come to see is a few minutes from the marina: the Arch is 1.2 miles away, Lover's Beach 1 mile, the sea lion colony 1.3 miles. A short, slow charter covers all of it without hours at sea. Cabo stays on Mountain Standard Time all year, with no daylight saving.

The Pacific side of Land's End gets open-ocean motion, and the afternoon wind usually builds, so a babymoon charter in Cabo San Lucas stays inside the bay and goes out in the morning. Most harbor closures fall between September and mid-October, when the Port Captain closes the harbor under a storm threat. If that happens on your date, you get a new date or a full refund.

The babymoon boat day, hour by hour

Departures start at 7 AM, and the bay is usually at its flattest before midday. A two-hour morning charter goes like this:

  1. Board at your yacht's dock in Marina Cabo San Lucas (it's on your boarding pass) between 8 and 10 AM. The marina is downtown, a walk from the Médano Beach hotels and a taxi ride from the corridor resorts.
  2. Idle past Pelican Rock, inside the bay, where reef fish swim close to the surface.
  3. Slow down at the sea lion colony, then stop at the Arch for photos. A professional photographer can join for USD 180, with all the photos from your charter, paid directly to the photographer. Add it in the planner.
  4. Anchor off Lover's Beach, on the calm side, to rest or swim. Swimming happens only with the boat anchored and the crew's go-ahead.
  5. Head back along Médano Beach. The loop is 4.7 miles round trip, so two hours leaves time at each stop.

Order breakfast in the planner and it's on board when you arrive: yogurt and granola, chilaquiles and beans, huevos rancheros, French toast or banana pancakes, at MXN 325 each (cash prices; card adds 16%). The Bayliner 30 includes bottled water and sodas.

The two hour route from the marina to the Arch and back, all inside the bay.

Which yacht for a babymoon

Look for a cabin to lie down in out of the sun, a head on board, shade, and a boat big enough to feel steady. All of these board in Marina Cabo San Lucas.

Yacht Cabin and head Shade 2 hours Takes up to
Bayliner 30 Cabin and head Cabin USD 549 / MXN 10,499 6
Bayliner 33 Cabin and head Cabin USD 599 / MXN 11,399 8
Azimut 45 Flybridge Two cabins, two heads Salon USD 1,249 / MXN 23,799 12
Sea Ray 55 Cabins and heads, A/C Salon USD 2,129 / MXN 40,399 (3 h) 15
Azimut 70 Two cabins, A/C salon Salon 3 h: USD 4,199 / MXN 79,799 12

We point most babymoon couples to the Bayliner 30. It comes with a professional captain, a cooler with ice, bottled water and sodas, and a cabin to rest in, and its size suits two people. The Chaparral 28 is cheaper at USD 519 (MXN 9,799), but it's an open sport boat with no cabin or head, and those are what you want on this trip.

In summer, if air conditioning matters, the Sea Ray 55 has A/C, cabins and heads, and a 55-foot motor yacht moves less than a 30-footer. If both sets of grandparents are coming, the Azimut 70 takes 12, with a menu on board and two cabins. The luxury yachts page has the rest of the top of the fleet.

What to skip on a babymoon charter

  • The Pacific sunset route. It rounds Land's End into open ocean toward the Cabo Falso lighthouse, where there's more motion. If you want a sunset, watch it from the bay side.
  • Afternoon departures. The wind tends to build after midday.
  • Long charters. Two hours is plenty, or three if you want a longer rest at anchor. Save the four-hour run up the coast to Santa María Bay for another trip.
  • Swimming at Divorce Beach. It has big surf and a strong undertow, so everyone sees it from the boat.

No yacht sells alcohol, and the Bayliner 30 includes water and sodas. The menu also has Gatorade at MXN 68. Our seasickness guide covers morning timing and where to sit on the boat.

What to tell us when you book

Write "babymoon" in the planner notes or on WhatsApp at +52 624 300 8029. Add how many weeks along you are if you'd like us to pass it to the captain. We'll keep the route inside the bay, plan a morning departure and confirm the yacht's cabin and head. Each charter is run by an independent licensed operator with a captain on board, and the captain picks where to anchor based on the day's water.

If something feels off on the day, tell the crew at the dock. Everything else works as for any charter: we reply within two hours, 8 AM to 8 PM Cabo time, and send a secure Stripe payment link once the date is confirmed.

Planning the baby shower too

If the shower or the gender reveal is also happening in Cabo, our baby shower on a yacht guide covers a daytime version where the cake does the reveal, since balloons aren't allowed on board.

The rest of the babymoon in Cabo

Keep the land days slow. Médano Beach is the swimming beach, 0.8 miles from the marina, with beach clubs along the sand. Whales start arriving in November and stay through April, so a morning charter in those months may spot one from the deck without extra sailing. Our romantic things to do in Cabo list has more ideas, and the best yacht for 2 compares the small boats by time of day.

Booking a babymoon charter

Open the planner, pick the Bayliner 30, a morning departure and two hours, and add breakfast. We reply in writing within two hours and send a secure Stripe link once the date is confirmed. If the Port Captain closes the harbor on your date, you get a new date or a full refund.
