Edith's is on Avenida del Pescador, right off Médano Beach, and looks across the bay to the Arch. The kitchen cooks Baja food with a touch of Guerrero: steaks, lobster and tortillas made by hand. It's the sister restaurant of The Office on the Beach and is open from 5 to 10 PM. Because it's close to the marina, it's the simplest pairing with a sunset cruise.

Manta is the restaurant at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, run by chef Enrique Olvera. The food is Mexican with Peruvian and Japanese touches, the Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended, and the dining room faces the Arch. The Rooftop at The Cape, in the same hotel, is a good place for a drink before dinner with the same view.

Where can you have dinner on a cliff over the Pacific?

El Farallón is at the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal, on the cliff above the Pacific. The menu changes daily with the local catch, and there's a champagne terrace for a drink first. It faces the open Pacific, away from the bay, so it works best as a night of its own, with the boat on another day.

Where can you watch the sunset at dinner?

Sunset Monalisa is on the Transpeninsular highway at kilometer 6, in Misiones del Cabo, and its first seating is the one that catches the sun going down over the bay. It now serves modern Italian food, with Domenico Stile as adviser and Héctor Morales as chef, and it's open from 4:30 to 10:30 PM. Ask for the first seating when you book.

Is there a Michelin-starred restaurant in Los Cabos?

Yes, one: Cocina de Autor, at Grand Velas Los Cabos, at kilometer 17 of the corridor. It earned its Michelin star in 2024 and kept it in the 2026 guide. What about Nobu Los Cabos?

Nobu Los Cabos is in Diamante, on the Pacific side, and opened in 2019. The food is the Japanese-Peruvian style the brand is known for, and dinner runs from 5 to 11 PM. The Ledge, its bar, is one of the spots Visit Los Cabos lists for a drink with a view, so you can start with a drink there before dinner.

• Rooftop 360, at Corazón Cabo, looks over the marina and Land's End.
• The Rooftop at The Cape faces the Arch.
• SORA is at the Four Seasons Cabo del Sol.
• SUR Beach House is on Médano Beach.
• Esperanza has its Pool Lounge, and Nobu has The Ledge.

How do you plan a sunset cruise and dinner for two?

Book the yacht about 90 minutes before sunset for two hours. You leave Marina Cabo San Lucas, pass the Arch while the light turns gold, round Land's End to face the sun on the Pacific side and come back after it sets. Then you walk or take a short ride to dinner.

The last departure from the marina is 7 PM and yachts sail until 8 PM, so even July works.

Which yacht is right for two?

For a couple, a small yacht is enough, and you have it to yourselves.

The Bayliner 30 has a cabin and comes with water and sodas, and the Chaparral 28 has a Bluetooth sound system for your playlist. The Sea Ray 40 adds a flybridge, a deckhand and towels. Prices include the 16% tax; a 15% crew tip is suggested and not included.

We don't sell alcohol on board. Guests 18 and over can bring their own bottle in the cooler. For a proposal or an anniversary, the Port Captain no longer allows balloons on board; cardstock decorations and a sign are fine, and flowers or a cake are extras we quote separately. If the sea is the part you care about, have dinner at anchor in the bay. Yachts from the marina can stay anchored until 10 PM, and you can order a cheese board from the menu in the planner.
