The best luxury yacht in Cabo San Lucas for 10 guests depends on what you mean by luxury. For cabins, A/C and a flybridge at the lowest price, it's the Azimut 45 Flybridge: USD 2,099 (MXN 39,899) for four hours, about USD 210 each for 10. For a chef, a crew of five and complimentary drinks, it's the McKinna 70: USD 5,999 (MXN 113,999) for four hours, about USD 600 each. Both take up to 12, so the same two picks work for a group of 12. For 15 guests, the Sea Ray 55 is the only motor yacht that fits, at USD 2,709 (MXN 51,499) for four hours.

Prices are per boat with the 16% IVA tax included. The customary 15% crew tip is not included. If your group is smaller or larger than 10 to 15, our yacht by group size page sorts the whole fleet by headcount.

Eleven of our thirteen yachts take 10 or more. The two that don't are the Bayliner 30 (6) and the Bayliner 33 (8). They're sorted by the four-hour price, with the per-person cost for a group of 10.

McKinna 70 12 USD 5,999 / MXN 113,999 about USD 600

A group of 10 on the Chaparral 28 fills it to the last seat. It's a 28-foot sport boat with a Bluetooth sound system, a lily pad floating mat, snorkel gear and a cooler, and it's the lowest price in the fleet. Ten people on the Chaparral 28 is cozy, and nobody would call it a luxury yacht, so from here on we stick to the yachts where 10 guests have room to spare.

Our luxury yachts page goes through the top of the fleet boat by boat. For 10 to 12 guests, these are the yachts we'd point most groups to.

Best luxury yacht for 10 guests on a budget: Azimut 45 Flybridge

The Azimut 45 is a 45-foot flybridge yacht for up to 12 with two cabins, two heads and an air-conditioned salon. It includes a captain and deckhand, a cooler with ice, water and sodas, towels and snorkel gear. With 10 people on board, some can take Arch photos from the flybridge while whoever has had enough sun cools off in the salon, and there are two proper bathrooms.

On the Azimut 45, four hours is USD 2,099 (MXN 39,899), about USD 210 each for 10 or USD 175 each for 12. Three hours is USD 1,649 (MXN 31,399). It meets you at Baja Cantina restaurant, by Dock LMN of IGY Marina Cabo San Lucas, downtown.

Best yacht for 10 to 15 guests with A/C: Sea Ray 55

The Sea Ray 55 is a 55-foot flybridge motor yacht and the only motor yacht in the fleet that takes 15. It has air conditioning, cabins and heads, and the most water toys of any boat we book: a floating pool, a paddle board, a lily pad floating mat and a floating platform. Bottled water, sodas and ice are included; towels are not, so bring your own.

Four hours on the Sea Ray 55 is USD 2,709 (MXN 51,499). With 10 on board that's about USD 271 each; with 12, about USD 226; with the full 15, about USD 181. For a group of 13, 14 or 15 it's the obvious luxury pick, since the only other yacht that takes more than 12 is the Pontoon 38, a double-deck party pontoon.

Best all-inclusive yacht for 10 to 12: Azimut 70 or McKinna 70

On the Azimut 70 and the McKinna 70 you don't need to bring a cooler. Both take up to 12, both have a three-hour minimum, and on both the crew serves complimentary drinks as a courtesy (alcohol is never sold on any yacht in Cabo).

The Azimut 70 is a 70-foot flybridge with two cabins and an A/C salon, a crew of three, a menu on board (fish ceviche, sashimi, beef or chicken fajitas, guacamole with chips), complimentary beer and cocktails, water, sodas and ice, snorkel gear and water toys. A chef on board is available at an extra charge. It boards at the IGY Marina Fuel Dock with no dock fee. Four hours is USD 5,299 (MXN 100,699), about USD 442 each for 12.

The McKinna 70 is a 70-foot luxury motor yacht with a crew of five, including the captain, deckhands and a chef on board, a multi-course menu cooked on board, welcome snacks with fresh guacamole, and complimentary drinks served by the crew. No dock fee. Four hours is USD 5,999 (MXN 113,999), about USD 500 each for 12.

Our McKinna 70 vs Azimut 70 comparison goes through the two side by side, and the all-inclusive page explains what's included on each.

The Sea Ray 65: luxury for 12 with one catch

The Sea Ray 65 is a 65-foot express motor yacht for up to 12 with a captain and deckhand, a paddle board, snorkel gear and a lily pad floating mat, and it has an all-inclusive option. Four hours boat-only is USD 2,999 (MXN 56,999).

The catch is where it boards: Fisherman's Landing restaurant, by the Cabo Escape terminal, boarding from 8 AM. It has to be back by 8 PM because the terminal closes, so it can't stay anchored in the bay for a late evening the way the marina yachts can.

Yacht for 12 people in Cabo: the short answer

Twelve is the most common guest limit in the fleet: eight yachts stop at exactly 12, and the Sea Ray 55 and Pontoon 38 take more, so a group of 12 has ten yachts to choose from. Here is the four-hour cost per person on the motor yachts, before the tip:

Yacht 4 hours per person, 12 guests
Sea Ray 36 about USD 102
Sea Ray 40 about USD 125
Maxum 45 or Regal 45 about USD 142
Azimut 45 Flybridge about USD 175
Sea Ray 55 about USD 226
Sea Ray 65 about USD 250
Azimut 70 about USD 442
McKinna 70 about USD 500

On a budget, the Sea Ray 36 (captain and deckhand, towels, cooler, snorkel gear) gives 12 people the most for the money, and the Sea Ray 40 adds a flybridge for about USD 33 more each. Groups that want food and drinks handled by the crew go for the Azimut 70 or the McKinna 70.

If your group is 13 or more

A 13th guest narrows the list a lot, because most yachts stop at 12. For 13 to 15 it's the Sea Ray 55 or the Pontoon 38; for 16 to 18, the Pontoon 38; for 19 or more, two yachts on the same route at the same time. Our large groups guide has the pairings and prices.

What every yacht on this page shares

  • A professional photographer can join for USD 180, with all the photos from your charter, paid directly to the photographer. Add it in the planner.
